Being from Leicester myself (I know it’s hard to believe that a Grüber can originate from Leicester but it is a very multicultural and diverse city), I fully appreciate the impact Emile Heskey had on the game of football. As highlighted by Diceman, Leicester City in the 90’s were not a team to be dismissed easily. As a young whippersnapper, Heskey was somewhat of an idol. His success gave all of us the belief that an ordinary boy from a small city can become an England International.
Football memories from my childhood are very limited as my attention span at that age was very short, that being said, the video above is the Emile Heskey I will always remember.
